Tommy Girvin

Composer/Author/Former Lead Guitarist for Eddie Money

For 22 years, composer and author Tommy Girvin toured the world as the lead guitarist, writer and musical director for rock singer Eddie Money. In 2015, Tommy moved on to other projects. He has also played on many hit records. His songs and cues are currently being played on hit television shows such as Ellen, Tyra Banks, Extra, Fox Sports, and many others. He is known for his ability to quickly write songs and cues on-demand. The results are sonically world class and ready for on-air delivery.

Tommy grew up in a musical family and began writing and performing at the age of 8. Tommy, his younger brother and sister performed in talent shows, played the pizza parlor circuit and made appearances at store openings, parties and events. “We learned the meaning of hard work and competition in the entertainment industry at an early age.”, he said.

Next, it was a band called Smile. For 10 years, Tommy wrote and played guitar in the band. Smile played original songs from the get-go, slugging it out in the Hollywood club circuit and selling out multiple nights in the top venues. Smile and Tommy signed to MCA and began touring. From there, he joined Eddie Money. Tommy was also the lead singer and writer in the band Ransom. The band and its album did very well in Europe. Another favorite project of Tommy’s was the band “Burning Candles” and their self-titled album. Both of these projects are still fan favorites. Many of Tommy’s songs are available for licensing through FINEST MUSIC publishing.

Mr. Tommy Presents is Tommy’s newest venture focusing on children’s music. It is the result of years of playing the classic folk songs, and Mr. Tommy songs, live at elementary schools. He says, “The children these days don’t get to hear these wonderful historic songs unless someone plays the songs for them. That’s where I come in. I love it and they most definitely love it!”

Tommy is working on the third “Mr.Tommy Presents” CD, titled, “Little Songs for Little Kids.” He looks forward to making more TV music, writing songs, and entertaining children with his endearing songs and stories.

Tommy now lives in Tampa Florida with his two children.
