Artist Bio / Description
Mark Chesnutt grew up loving music thanks to his father, who was both a singer and an avid record collector. After his sophomore year of high school, Mark dropped out of school and began playing with his father in clubs around southeast Texas. Then, at age 17, Mark’s father took him to Nashville. It was here that they started recording music. Mark recorded on small labels while in the house band for local Beaumont nightclub, Cutters. Because of his traditional style, he gradually gathered a large fanbase. Mark had released eight singles by the late 1980s. These singles would later be released together on his 1988 album, “Doing My Country Thing”. Chesnutt has been married to his wife, Tracie, since 1992; the couple has three sons.
